FCS supports EnerMech
FCS will support EnerMech on the deep-water pipeline pre-commissioning project in Southern Italy.
FCS will contribute to the project by providing two (2) down line systems, initially a 5” SoluForce system comprising 850m of 5” SoluForce delivered in two sections installed onto a 4,5m hose drum with live centre/swivel. The drum will be deployed using the newly manufactured spooler unit FCS-10304 powered by one of our HPU’s. All equipment has been shipped from FCS base in Sola by both road and sea to the construction vessel mobilisation ports of Palermo/Trapani. Once on site the equipment will be utilised should an incident occurred during pipe installation (Wet Buckle Contingency).
The next stage of the project will involve tie in of the pipelines to the subsea infrastructure, on completion the SoluForce hose system will be utilised to flood the pipelines and check no damage has occurred during the installation/tie in campaigns. (Flood, Clean and Gauge).
Stage two of the project for FCS will involve the delivery of an 800m long 2” Black Eagle hose delivered on our hose reel FCS-10014 together with HPU, Chute and subsea breakaway unit. The equipment will be shipped from FCS base in Sola by road to the construction vessel mobilisation port of Trapani. Once on site the equipment will be utilised to pressurise the pipeline system (leak test).
On completion of the successful leak test all of the test fluids will be removed from the pipelines (dewatering) by mobilising a liquid nitrogen spread onboard one vessel and injection nitrogen gas via the FCS 2” Black Eagle hose vial the pipelines, where fluids will be discharged via the SoluForce hose to a tanker.
From an initial decision to support the project, by manufacturing a replacement hose spooler/drum (planned unit remains assigned to a project in Australia) and associated items taken around 16.03.2023, total duration for procurement/manufacture/assembly/function testing was completed on 05.06.2023 – around 10 weeks.
